Summer is here! So you surely have more spare time, and I hope you give it a good artistic use! If you create new art pieces, don't forget to upload them to your deviantART gallery to share them with us all, we'll love to take a look at them! ^^

As you already know, the purpose of these newsletters are to keep you informed about everything related to our Anthro Gallery here in deviantART, to DA in general, and all AR Team activities you may find interesting, because from time to time, we launch contests, cool features, art events, news updates, and other happenings pimp-worthy. But they're also a way to keep in touch, and let you give us your two cents. That's why you should give us our feedback, both by note or leaving your thoughts here as a comment. We know there's always room for improvement, so please don't hesitate to slap me if you think I have done something wrong!

So, the best way to not miss any is to keep an eye on my journals: They can be both personal and "official" but I know you will easily find the differences ;3




Yeah, sadly Because, as many of you already know, our dear and beloved `cooley left the Anthro Gallery Director status After devoting a whole year to support, promote, and improve the Anthro Gallery, (a whole year of hard, volunteer work) now she is taking new projects, amazing challenges, and great adventures, to care for her life and work, and we are going to miss her a lot. Ack, in fact, we already feel a bit like orphans!!!

I only ask you, encourage you, beg you to let her know how grateful we all are for her work, and for all the good things she has done for us . Note her, leave her a nice comment, give her a virtual hug, she really needs it, and that will be our biggest "Thank you" ever :] I know you all won't dissapoint me.

(and keep in mind I'm alone doing the tasks now, so take it easy if I can't do everything in time, hehe ;; I'll do my best, and there are also many other people already working hard to get everything working smooth as a well oiled engine)



As an event `cooley started, the interviews are actually published more often... 7 so far! We have received a pretty good feedback from the Anthro Artists community, so it seems many of you find them interesting enough to even ask for more. There will be more, no doubts about it, and a whole set of new artists are being contacted for the next batch. So far, the interviews done already are:

Community Choice started out as a simple series of articles by ^misskittyoooo where deviants could choose one deviant’s gallery and pick three deviations from it to feature. The project soon extend and took the form of Community Choice’s News Articles, embraced by several Gallery Directors and by everyone in deviantART.

The goal of this project is simple: To provide a fun and simple way of featuring good work from deviantART's galleries in a collaborative spirit between Gallery Directors and the community. The purpose is to expose deviant's artworks without the 'just post thumbs' attitude - we feel this way the Featured works get the attention and respect they deserve, so we just published 2 issues so far, Anthro Gallery related!

So, starting right now, and without deadline, if you feel a deviation is great and should be featured, you may want to suggest it to get a Daily Deviation (DD), but if you want to feature a whole gallery, or an anthro artist and some pictures from their galleries, then send me a note (and dont' forget to add "skifi" to the recipient box) with your own Community Choice selection, and we'll see if you can later read it at "Anthro Community's Choice" #3, #4.... or even more XD;;;




Yep, even more interviews!!! I am trying to educate myself, and also our readers, about DA staff and administrators Some of us think about them as almighty Gods and are afraid of even sending them a note trying to contact them. Some of us think they are only nicknames on a screen and don't even try to get to know more, as long as the place works smoothly. Some of us think they're not really people but quantic alien computers with human shape, plotting an evil plan to rule the World...

So, in a (lame) try to clear things a bit, I asked some staff members to answer a few questions, in order to let us get to know them a bit better. Two of them, $realitysquared and $chix0r were nice, kind and friendly enough to answer to my questions. You may think that, being a Gallery Director (volunteer staff), I would have no shame into contacting them, but I'm shy by nature, so nyah. xD;; Read and enjoy them, learn about the person behind the nickname! ^^

I'm getting everything ready to attend AnthroCon 2008 next week, getting a week off at work. I plan to meet many people there, some close friends, some casual ones, and enjoy it to bits, but I would love to mention two of them in a special way:

*LightningRyu because she will do a huge effort to meet me and share some time and fun at JFK Airport in New York during an annoyingly long stop over in my way to the final destination, and I can only thank her for that.

*seel-dingo, my best friend ever, not only because she's hosting me (again) before and after AnthroCon, but because if it were not because of her, I wouldn't even been able to make it and attend the convention. Not to mention I love every minute we spend together. You may think: How can they be the very best friends and live in different continents? And, to those, I answer: It just happens. And even if it sucks for all the planes we need to take to meet from time to time, it's worth. 100% worth. 1000000% worth ^^



Please only send your suggestion to me only Remember `cooley is not a Gallery Director anymore, so she can't feature images with a Daily Deviation, then no need to spam her mailbox with them, but only with love letters, nice treats, and chocolate boxes. Thanks in advance! ^^
